Banning those buns — BYU-Idaho has banned an up-and-coming hairstyle

Banning those buns — BYU-Idaho has banned an up-and-coming hairstyle
Brigham Young University – Idaho always likes to turn heads when they ban things, but this one takes the cake.

The amount of outrage there seems to be about man buns is starting to take up headline space.

First of all, who would ban the uber-sexy man bun, or mun, in the first place? I mean, what’s not to like about a full-grown man who has longer hair than I do?
Lover Fashion www.lover-fashion.com Sexy Lingerie Wholesale Lingerie To be fair, there are actually several men who can rock the mun. Take for example Orlando Bloom or a bearded Chris Hemsworth. They look fabulous. The random fraternity guy … eh.

BYU-Idaho has now implemented several policies intended to discipline anyone caught with a mun. That doesn’t solve the problem of wearing a hat or something to cover it up, but I guess people who sport muns are proud of them and wouldn’t want to hide their majestic locks in a beanie.

I can’t help but notice that there are no explanations of what these “disciplinary actions” are. Will they turn into Delilah and cut off all the Samsons’ hair? Wasn’t that something bad in the bible? Speaking of the bible, I bet Jesus was the sexiest mun-wearer to ever mun.

The part that really grinds people up the wrong way was the wording of Student Honor Administration student representative Tyler Barton when he said muns deviate from the norm. But from what norm? It is apparently a part of society now, though according to some fashion sites it’s on the way out again.

I’ll give all the guys at UI a hint: we are nearly a year behind the fashion trends of the world. To beat the trends, go out and get a pompadour style haircut now. It’s the thing. The mun is out. Mostly.

However, BYU-Idaho is also getting too much hate for their decision. Anyone who attends BYU-Idaho knows there is a strict dress code. It is laid out in the contract students sign in order to attend. Hairstyles for men have to be “clean and neat, avoiding extreme styles of colors and trimmed above the collar leaving the ear uncovered.”

A mun isn’t exactly trimmed above the collar and, according to a Boise Weekly column, falls under the “extreme styles” category. Likely right up there with the pompadour, Mohawks and buzz cuts.

Anyone who attends BYU-Idaho has the same expectations and follows the same rules. Their rules are a little silly to those of us used to having the freedom to wear the clothes we want and to style our hair any way we choose.

Just because we think something is ridiculous and shouldn’t take up headline space, doesn’t mean our opinion is the only one. Rules are still rules, no matter how silly.

Students attending BYU-Idaho signed a contract. Muns weren’t explicitly mentioned, but now that everyone knows, it should be fine. No more deviations from the “norm.”

Taylor Swift, the cover girl for the new issue of InStyle, has come into her own this year, no longer letting her hot self be defined by the famous dudes she dates.

She's all about the music lately, having a heck of a good time and reaching new heights, personally and professionally, as she nears the quarter-century mark.

As a result, she says she isn't even sure she wants kids. Like at all.

"I don't know if I'll have kids," she confesses, for a number of reasons, most notably not being in the right mindset at this point in her 24-year-old existence.

She also has fears of raising them in the spotlight, however.

How could she convince them, she muses, "that they have a normal life when, inevitably, there will be strange men pointing giant cameras at them from the time they are babies."

"It's impossible not to picture certain scenarios."

Marriage feels like it's a long way off, as well.

"I'm too young to get married," she says.

"Not age-wise," Swift clarifies, "but I know myself, so why try to meet someone right now when I know that I'm too young to do something serious?"

Surprisingly mature, given the sheer number of celebrities who have dated Taylor Swift and how a good number of them went from zero to 60, romance-wise.

No longer, she says she's loving being single.

"Being on my own, prioritizing my girlfriends, my family and my music above everything else and trying things I never thought I'd try," Swift reflects.

With her upcoming album, 1989, dropping October 27, and being in a better place than ever before, "it's really been a liberating and freeing time."

Being single doesn't mean lonely in her case.

Right now, the singer says her friends, including Karlie Kloss, Lena Dunham, Lorde and Jaime King, are "the most important thing to me right now."

That and her two cats ... meow.

The person who tricked Amanda Bynes into flying to L.A. where she ended up in a mental ward is none other than the man who some say created life-threatening peril for a then-unstable Britney Spears.

TMZ has learned ... Sam Lutfi -- who Britney's parents say was recklessly medicating her before she was eventually strapped to a stretcher and taken to a psych ward in 2008 -- contacted Amanda Thursday and convinced her to sue her parents. He got her to fly to L.A. so he could hook her up with a lawyer.

Here's what Amanda DIDN'T know ... Lutfi was secretly working with Amanda's parents and it was all an elaborate ruse to lure her out so doctors could place her on an involuntary psychiatric hold.

We now have more clarification as to how Lutfi pulled it off. He told Amanda her car would be making 2 stops. First, to the lawyer's office in Pasadena and then to the London Hotel in West Hollywood where she would confront her parents and tell them about the lawsuit.

She never got to the London, because the driver went to a Pasadena hospital which looked like an office building.  Amanda thought she was going to see the lawyer but when she walked inside she was surrounded by hospital staff.

TMZ broke the story ... Amanda was placed on a 72-hour psych hold which can be extended for 14 days.  We're told during that time her parents will attempt to get another conservatorship.

Lutfi -- who has always said he was actually protecting Britney -- is a hero in the eyes of Amanda's parents. We're told they are going to publicly thank him.
